Selective Asia’s award-winning and expanding portfolio now features 16 countries with additions planned for 2019. Here are some new tours, properties opening their doors and vessels setting sail in the coming months.
SIX SENSES OPENS NETWORK OF FIVE INTIMATE LODGES IN BHUTAN
The Six Senses group is opening five new intimate lodges in Bhutan. The aim is to allow guests to travel between each property for an all-encompassing tour of the Buddhist kingdom on the eastern edge of the Himalayas. Spread throughout the breath-taking landscapes of Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey, Bumthang and Paro, every detail of the lodges reflects the heritage and hospitality of the colourful Kingdom. But what makes this place truly special is that each property has its own unique design, look and feel.
Selective Asia’s 16-day Wonders of Bhutan costs from £3485 pp excluding flights.
A YESTERYEAR VIBE IN VIETNAM’S QUY NHON
Undeveloped with great beaches situated alongside old school fishing villages, Quy Nhon in Vietnam’s Binh Dinh Province is something of an undiscovered gem. Don’t head here if you’re looking for a plethora of swanky restaurants outside the resort but, as a beach resort with a yesteryear vibe, it’s pretty hard to beat right now in South East Asia. Anantara has just opened a 26-villa property dotted across seven acres of lush landscaping fronting a secluded cove with private dining, in-villa martial arts, a cliffside jungle spa and a Jack Nicklaus-designed 36-hole golf course.
Selective Asia’s 13-day Vietnam in Style costs from £4223 pp excluding flights.
THE BEST OF SRI LANKA’S EAST COAST PROPERTIES
Sheltered by tall palms swaying over a pristine private beach, the new Karpaha Sands blends the immediacy of tented camp accommodation with premium hotel luxury. On Sri Lanka’s undeveloped east coast, just south of Passekudah and only an hour or sof rom the historic city of Polonnaruwa, this laid-back resort is an ideal spot for indulging in a little downtime.
Selective Asia’s 12-day East Coast Sri Lanka costs from £2729 pp excluding flights.
HERITAGE LINE SETS SAIL WITH TWO NEW LUXURY VESSELS IN 2019
Heritage line, which specialises in classic river vessels painstakingly resorted to emulate the glories of a bygone era, marks the arrival of 2019 by unveiling two new ships for the year ahead. Ylang – the Sensuous Belle will set sale in August and feature a wellness and lifestyle theme while exploring Vietnam’s Lan Ha Bay. Hot on its heels will be the Anouvong – a luxury vessel of 10 staterooms and suites spaciously spread over two decks each outfitted with private balconies. It will sail between the Golden Triangle, Huay Xai, on the Thai-Laos border and Luang Prabang (and vice versa) on a three-night voyage, as well as covering longer journeys between Huay Xai and Vientiane experiencing the unspoiled beauty of the Laotian countryside to the fullest.
Selective Asia’s 12-day An Insider’s Vietnam starts from £2497 pp based on two travelling excluding flights. The 12-day An Insider’s Thailand starts from £2718 pp based on two travelling excluding flights.
