With the addition of India, Selective Asia’s award-winning and expanding portfolio now features 17 countries. Here are some new tours, properties opening their doors and vessels setting sail in the coming months.
SELECTIVE ASIA LAUNCHES INDIA PROGRAMME
Selective Asia has added India to its portfolio – its 17th destination. The programme initially features six “favourite journeys” created by the team from the 13-day India with Ease to the Walk on the Wild Side, a two-week journey through Madhya Pradesh, a little visited corner of India and home to no fewer than six impressive national parks. Other itineraries feature Rajasthan and Kerala and the full programme can be seen here. Prices start from £2282 for India with Ease (excluding flights).
A WORLD OF WELLNESS IN NEW BHUTAN RETREAT
Tucked away in the hills outside Paro and designed to resemble a traditional Bhutanese fortress, the recently opened Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary is a place of peace with a focus on cultural immersion and an all-inclusive approach to well-being. The 24 rooms are a base from which to enjoy a programme of spa treatments, meditation and cookery lessons alongside opportunities to explore the tranquillity, monasteries and calm of the Neyphu Valley. Selective Asia can include the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary in its fully tailor-made Bhutan programme. Prices start from £3568 for the 16-day Wonders of Bhutan (excluding flights).
COSY GLAMOUR AND HIMALAYA LAKE VIEW IN NEW TENTED VILLA PROPERTY
Reached by paddle-boat over Phewa Lake or a trek through the mountains, the new Pavilions Himalaya Lake View offers cosy glamour in the midst of some of the world’s most trekkable landscape – and is the ideal place to kick-back and unwind after time exploring the region. The resort’s eight hexagonal villas sit by the lake, with enormous panoramic windows overlooking the water, countryside, and the Himalayan range beyond. Their unusual shape sees four of the eight walls made of glass (allowing for superb views from your bed!). Selective Asia can include the Pavilions Himalaya Lake View in its fully tailor-made Nepal programme. Prices start from £1687 for the 10-day Simply Nepal (excluding flights).
NEW LUXURY CRUISE EXPEDITIONS AND VESSELS UNVEILED IN INDONESIA
Three all-new, luxury cruise expeditions will launch in East Indonesia in November. Operated by two new vessels – the 15-suite Aqua Blu and Aqua Nera with its 20 river-facing suites – they will serve Raja Ampat in Indonesia’s West Papua province, Bali to Komodo National Park, and the Ambon and Spice Islands in seven and 12-night coastal cruises. Selective Asia’s Indonesia programme features 10 journeys with prices starting from £1216 for the 13-day Bali & Lombok with Ease (excluding flights).
BALI TO KOMODO CRUISE ROUTE AMENDED TO INCLUDE NEW SITE FOR WHALE SHARKS SPOTTING
Operators of a seven-night cruise in Indonesia have amended the routing to include a newly identified site for spotting whale sharks. The largest fish species, although they resemble the whales from which their common name is derived, they belong to a group called Chondrichthyes, which includes sharks, rays, and skates. They can grow up to 12 metres in length and weigh up to 20 tonnes – about the size of a small bus. The strongest chance of sightings is over July and August when cruises will take a slight diversion to see these beautiful creatures in their habitat. Selective Asia’s 17-day Ultimate Indonesia start from £3613 (excluding flights).
FORMULA 1 COMES TO VIETNAM WITH HANOI GRAND PRIX
